Lime Rock Vintage Festival 2003

The 25th anniversary at Lime Rock was a huge success. Saturday allowed some of the drivers to do some lapping sessions on the track in the Procars, Sunday morning allowed for the M1's to be featured at the Sunday Coucours on the track along with hundreds of other classic and vintage automobiles. Unfortunately, due to some rain on Monday the Procars remained in the Paddock while the street cars took to the track for a few parade laps. This event was probably the largest gathering of BMW M1's since the last race in 1980 when the cars were raced as a support race for the Formula 1 series.

Sunday nights dinner was graciously hosted by Skip Barber at his home just outside Lime Rock. We were honoured by the presence key figures from BMW, Bugati, and some of those involved in the development of the M1. Also present were some great racing personalities like Hans Stuck, Sam Posey and Bill Auberlen who shared with us some of their personal experiences with the M1.
